I’ve recently been working on book cover design and came across some great AIGA archives of some of the best book covers of ‘08, while doing some research.

There are some amazing pieces one of my favorite among them is a book of poems by Boris Vian designed by Les Allusifs. There’s a lot of great covers I’d recommend taking a gander at. Or as the California Raisins might say: “Book (covers) check em out!”

Year: 2009

I didn’t pick up on the Antlers until last years release. I was in a mopey band mood for a few months and these guys definitely fit that bill. Two is probably the most upbeat of the songs on the album, which if you’ve heard it should tell you something. This should definitely not deter you from grabbing this record. There are some amazing songs, like Kettering for instance which puts me in a delightfully gloomy mood.

I was surprised by this album after their last release, which had it’s points but didn’t stick with me, likely because of how short it was. This one however I say is winner, albeit a lonely, sad and disillusioned winner. :P

They are complete! One more sneak peak of the invitations I designed for our wedding. My favoritest person in then entire universe ,Teanuh, and I put the finishing touches on them today. I found out how much of a master wax stamper she was. She just gets neater and neater everyday I’m lucky enough to know her.

We even got a hold of some Simpsons stamps for the return envelopes. I think because of our shared obsession, they are the perfect finishing touch.

I’m pretty damn excited to mail them out.

Keeping with my “Hey” studios theme here’s another great design studio. Looks Like Good Design featured Heydays, located in Oslo. They have some inspiring pieces that are well thought out and executed. Hope you enjoy.

Also, their website is a great example of how flash can be done right.
